you mention youre a MS---can i ask if that means you have a specific role--like--passing the microphone or ordering literature ? the reason i ask is i'm soo far out of the loop i just dont know what goes on in the kingdumb hall any more.
over the past few decades i've met many individual jws, but i've always been curious about the gb members themselves and about service at bethel.
first, do gb members fraternize with regular rank and file members or do they only sell out each other?
when i was a methodist, it didn't take me long to figure out that our minister and his wife were frequently invited to dinner, but i never heard of him actually inviting members to his house for dinner.
back in the 60's--Peter Ellis was a circuit servant--and sometimes stayed at my wifes parents house in the Birmingham UK area.
in recent years--since i joined this site--i found out from another member on here---that Wilf Gooch used to holiday at friends house here where i now live--on the Isle of Wight UK.
so i was thinking the other day that the wt corp has produced thousands of books over the years.
although the writers have changed the style is almost always the same.
however, some books are just worse than others.
back in my late teens / early 20's i rarely read any of the literature or magazines. i had no interest in it at all--and found the fonts and page layout to be difficult to even focus on.
i made the break at 23.

i'm sorry that this isn't a very thought provoking post but i could really use some advice on how to handle this.
there isn't anyone else in my life i can ask right now because, being dfed, all of my friends are "worldly" and don't know how witnesses function.
apart from fear of ( maybe ) losing family through shunning---why on earth else would you want to go back to having to suck up to those jumped up tin pot two bob little hitlers. why play their stupid game ?
what makes you think your family will have anything to do with you if you do fade ? are they really so spineless and shallow ?
i've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.
all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.
it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?
in fact--isnt that a good marketable idea-??-----jehovah blow ups!!

it's amazing how the expression "the truth" has become such an ingrained term used by witnesses.. "we have 'the truth'".

most here have found out so many facts about the organisation, and felt the effects of being "gut-punched" as we realised these facts.. so how do you feel about the expression "the truth" now?.

i remember--about 20 years ago--discovering that a friend ( female ) was a faded JW---
i referred to her as being " out of the truth" with others in on the conversation. they thought it was hilarious !
